My name is Amanda Freely. I am a photographer and visual storyteller devoted to honouring people in life’s most tender seasons. My work in end-of-life and bereavement photography grew from years of documenting human stories in hospitals, communities, and intimate personal spaces, where presence matters as much as the image itself.
Through Threshold Sessions, I offer compassionate, trauma-informed end-of-life, hospice, and legacy photography for individuals and families facing illness, palliative care, and final goodbyes. I arrive quietly, listen closely, and work with intention, respect, and emotional intelligence, never intruding, always honouring dignity and consent.
These sessions are not about perfection, they are about preserving connection, love, touch, and truth in moments that pass too quickly. My role is to witness, invite, and create meaningful images that become part of a family’s healing and lasting memories.
My practice is based in Edmonton, Alberta, but I am happy to travel. I believe photography at the end of life is an act of intentional care, which helps families not just remember how someone looked, but how deeply they were loved.
